This Program is Not For Everyone

Our in-person Web Development courses are designed for busy adults who can't quit their day jobs but are driven to boost their professional skills and, often, change their career.

Few Coding Schools offer the length and breadth of material that we do. We are a Computer Programming School devoted to creating Web Application Developers with sound Computer Science skills. Our curriculum is designed to be completed in a dense, but realistic time frame of nine months.

By the end of the 9-month program, each student will have their own portfolio full of web applications, something which university graduates lack and employers desperately seek.

Do you have what it takes?

The Web Development faculty at TechLaunch has created 8 tutorials for you to try out for free right now. Visit our Coder's Corner where you will get to use the same computer languages that the professionals use to create web applications. Completing these tutorials will give you a taste of Web Development and will help you judge if web development is right for you.

Coding Bootcamps

The South Florida region offers only a handful of coding bootcamps, including Wyncode and Ironhack. These programs are often effective, but they take place during the work day and do not offer financial aid. The technology programs at Techlaunch take place during the evenings and therefore don't interfere with the 9-5 career schedule and financial aid can cover the majority of tuition costs.

Most importantly, the coding bootcamps are 320 total hours while Techlaunch's program is 720 total hours. We think 320 hours is barely enough time to become a web developer, let alone a strong one. There are no shortcuts--you will become a strong web developer by the end of our program.

Computer Science Degrees from Universities

A computer science degree will give you an excellent understanding of computers and the internet, but it won't give you any coding skills to apply your knowledge. You won't have a portoflio of projects proving you can make stuff.

A developer's portfolio is the most important part of their resume. By the end of Techlaunch's Web Developer program, you will have a rich portfolio full of varied, in-depth, relevant projects.

Online Programs

There are a few different online coding schools and websites that can take a beginner from amateur to intermediate at a low cost, and often for free. For example, Codecademy provides many good introductions to various programming languages for free, Team Tree House provides learning paths with videos and exercises for a low monthly fee, and Coursera provides a few online computer science courses from excellent universities, for free.

However, online programs are notorious for low completion rates. As a student in Techlaunch's Web Developer program, you will be learning and coding with a professional web developer in the same room who can immediately answer any questions, look at your code, and offer you feedback and encouragement. Such a close student-mentor relationship cannot be found in online programs.

Financial Aid: Everyone Can Afford A Quality Education

Since we are an accredited institutuion, many students can afford our programs with grants, loans, easy payments and other ways to manage tuition costs. Few, if any Coding Boot Camps or Web Developer Schools can offer the amount of options we can offer in terms of financing.

The Florida Vocational Institute maintains a staff of financial aid professionals to assist students in obtaining the financial assistance they require to meet their educational expenses. Available resources include federal grant and loan programs, and student loans from private lenders.

Federal assistance programs are administered through the U.S. Department of Education. Any U.S. citizen, national, or person in the United States for other than temporary reasons who is enrolled and accepted may apply for these programs. Most forms of financial assistance are available for each July 1-June 30 award period.

Every student considering an application for financial aid should request a copy of the current guide, Funding Your Education, published by the U.S. Department of Education. This important document can be obtained online from The United States Office of Federal Student Aid and will assist persons in understanding eligibility requirements.
